Krav Maga as part of our daily exercise routine

As we try to understand what is Krav Maga, some refer to it as a type of martial art and others a type of self-defense. Krav Maga was developed in the 1940’s in Israel by Imi Lichtenfeld (Sde-Or) who taught his self-defense techniques to soldiers in the Israeli Army – since then, Krav Maga has become a wildly popular form of self-defense as well as a fitness tool across the world.

Krav Maga uses movements and techniques from jujitsu, judo, and boxing. During a Krav Maga class, a student learns how to defend himself from an attacker or multiple attackers.

What are the benefits of joining a Krav Maga class? To begin with is a high-intensity art that burns calories and builds up muscle. Each class starts with a warm-up and ends with a cool-down period, and during the class, there is a lot of training and aerobic exercise.

As the student improves its physical fitness form, also does its mental fitness level. Krav Maga prepares a student physically and mentally to address any attacks and react as fast as possible.

There are Krav Maga classes for everyone: kids, women, adults. Everyone can benefit physically and mentally by just joining a class.

As per personal experience, I started with no knowledge of any martial art or activity and the fitness part of the training but soon realized that Krav Maga is designed for anyone and everybody can learn it and also stay fit.

This is a summary of the benefits of joining a Krav Maga class:
1. It’s a great workout
2. Gain physical and mental confidence
3. Make life-long friends
4. Safety

So next time when you hear about Krav Maga, think that besides getting the skills to learn to defend yourself, it is also a great tool to keep fit and be in shape.
